Steve Rubel points out the absence any mention of the outage in the media, but like one of the comments to his post says,

"I'm glad the press doesn't waste time on things like this."

I have to agree; this isn't news worthy. It is however, blog-worthy. It's up to us to keep each other informed.

Hey Google, what about a network status page like this one?

Gmail was out from about 3:30pm-5:30pm EST yesterday (4 May 06). Surprised that Googling "gmail outage" on Google News brings up nada.
