181.6: Ready, Set, Go!
I publicly committed to begin a weight-management and exercise program on my return from Houston. I tipped the scales today at 181.6, and am shooting for 170 by April 30. So here it goes.
I ate whole grain cereal and a few strawberries for breakfast. For lunch, I’ll have a bowl of soup and half a chicken sandwich on whole grain bread. Snacks will be small and frequent, consisting of fruit, vegetables, and nuts. I’m not sure yet about dinner. Plenty of water throughout the day, and no eating after 7pm.
To ease myself back into running, I’ll start with two 20-minute walks each day for the first week, and then move into some short (2-miles?) runs, the following week. There will be plenty of stretching throughout the day to prepare myself for the transition.
Wish me luck!

This is great. I just had a wonderful snack of celery sticks. And water. I–love–it. It–make–me–feel–so–good. I can't wait until my after lunch snack of low fat yogurt. I won't be hitting 170 any time soon, but I hope to join you there this summer. Good luck.
PS- I hate celery. It is the most boring vegetable ever invented. Oh well…

Good luck dude. If you feel like you're having a hard day, just read around the blogosphere and see how other people are doing. Don't focus so much on the end goal – just concentrate on getting up and eating right each day. Do each day at a time and you'll get the results.
