Free Streaming Radio: KEXP 90.3 FM

bq. Where the music matters

“KEXP 90.3 FM (KEXP 90.3 FM)”:kexp is a listener-supported college radio station broadcast by the “University of Washington (University of Washington)”:uw. The rotation features a wildly eclectic mix of music from a few artists you’ve heard of, and many you have not. The music here is cream of the crop, I find myself frequently scrambling to check the online playlist after hearing a great tune to find the artist’s name. The chatter is very sparse, with no DJ-style gimmicks, contests, or other fluff… it’s just good music. The best part is that it’s all offered through a variety of free streams including “Windows Media (Windows Media Stream)”:wmx, “Real (Real Player)”:real, “Shoutcast (Shoutcast)”:shout, and “uncompressed CD-quality Windows Media Stream”:cd (my favorite).

Oh and by the way, there’s a free “Song of the Day podcast (KEXP Song of the Day)”:podcast. The music served here is great, and better yet it’s delivered as a DRM(Digital Rights Management)-free MP3!
